Body Painting

ok i just ordered a jconcepts truth body for my slash so i can do my own paint and tell it apart from the other cars on the track.
anyway this will be my first multi colored body. i want it to e blak for the back truck bed area. with a blue main body color with bright like flourecent green front. since tis will be my first multi colored body. i was thinking just go strait across the hood for the color seperation.

couple questins.

1. how do i rugh up the body so the paint sticks. i heard scitch brite pad on the inside before paint. my concern is the scratches will show up on the outside trough the paint.

2. can i just use blue painers tape like i can get at walart.

3. in the article i was reading. it said to back the paint after you have done the last color. it said black or white are best. i will have black. but i will also be using light colors should i use white to back light colors instead??

i was thinking of the same colors found on the body found here but on a joncepts truth body and without the fancy design on the side. i was going to go strait across the hood and down behind the front fenders.

thanks, chris

http://www.jconcepts.net/store/index.php?m...products_id=177

Ok so as you all know there is a race scheduled for September the 11th. However, there was some talk amongst a group of us this weekend about possible moving the date to the 18th.

I feel that we should save this date for remembrance, also there is the Boise cash race that I know a few local guys are traveling to.

Please post your thoughts and opinions and I will make the final decision later this week!

Thanks, Chevron

Broken Slash

today i was bashing my slash in my backyard. i had the speed gears in it since i dont have any other gears for it right now.

i was driving it down the street and hit a rock or something and my car bounced off the ground flipped in mid air and landed on its back tire and spun arond and barrow rolled down the street. it took out the left rear a arm. only because the hinge pin had backed out and was not in all the way.

has anyone tried the strc hing pin kit that uses locknuts to keep the pins in place.? for now i am just going to replace the rear arms with rpm and use the stock pins for now. until i can get the pins from strc then i will use them. i think that is the only way to keep this from happening agin.

strc kit

http://www.teamstrc.com/ebproductdetail.as...ainid=35&id=346

chris
