truggy quals today...just got off phone with Taylor


Randy is in race 11 and Taylor in race 15 I think.

Taylor was on a TQ run for first 5 minutes of the 7 minute race and got tangled up with a lapper so it put him down to 17th for the first round. That is an amazing pace considering there is usually only a second between 1st and 10th at these big races....

o ya....there is a triple/triple/triple section Taylor said is amazingly hard to make clean each lap...his Werks motors and Kyosho chassis' are kickin like usual!!

WOW! That track looks dialed.

Another update........

TP finished 13th in the second round of truggy. He is about 10 seconds of the pace.

Randy didn't get in a full first round. He had a rx battery come unplugged. On his second round he managed to finish and is sitting around 40 seconds off pace. Not bad considering this is the first time he has run truggy .......and oh ya......I guess there is a little bit of competition down there!

Now lets hope they lay it down w/ the real cars/buggies.

Taylor missed the A by a spot or 2 so that means he is probably about 15th or so overall....that is out of about 100 truggies!!!

Randy put a different motor in and cut 2 seconds off his lap times!!! LOL he is only about 20 seconds off the TQ for the 3rd round...

Taylor 16th of 120 truggy's.(3rd in the B main) He broke a shock in third round so it could have been better. Randy is in the lower mains with electrical/engine problems. Buggy quals start at 7:30 am friday. Check the neo-buggy or starting grid web site for more details.

How many Bump spots are open ? 3rd in B (with Qual troubles) should mean a excellent chance to Make that A !

Taylor had a good first run...battling with the current IFMAR world champ for 7 minutes....they both had a few little issues making thier run about a B main run according to my source.

'I'm working on my buggy while it's charging. I look to see if its done, it says check battery.....at that moment magic LRP smoke is coming out of the receiver and battery box. I tear into both and unplug everything. Everything is fused together....the batter is still smoking, I can't put in garbage, so I set it on the ground. 10 minutes later one of the cells explodes. Like M80 sounding, everyone's looking at me....2 races to go and I'm up. TP and Mike Phillips help me get out in time. I'm loving the vspec, I'm doing the nine pack (tripple, tripple, tripple) car is good. I have my best lap of the weekend a 39 flat. Today the pros are doing low 37's for fast laps. On lap 6, the wind hits my car mid tripple and rolls it. I try to corret it but don't make it. Come down hard on front wheel and break ball on tie rod. did I mention I'm car number 13 in heat 13....No joke. If I was gay and rc was a wooden d--k, I would have splinters in my a$$ right now....'

Even with troubles he had ? randy still in top half of buggys and looks like he did pretty nice in truggy to.. They Both are looking real good heading to Mains with all things considered ?

Congrats Taylor on 3rd in C main for buggy and 3rd in B main for Truggy in qualifying, Good luck the next 2 days! Hope everything works out better for Randy, good luck to you too!

I hear the biggest problem with the track is there seems to be too much traction...can this really be a problem? LOL Taylor said the new holeshot buggy tires are great on that track!! Mike Truhe is on fire setting the fastest lap in buggy at 36 seconds....I am sure I could rip off a blistering 45 second lap consistently! LOL

just got a report----

'my buggy was real good in my last qual. had a few mistakes, but I turned 11 laps. and dropped my best lap times down to 38.4 was like a D main run. 2 less crashes would have been a top of the c mainer. I'm excited for the mains cause I have both cars working good and running good. But bumping will take an act of god...I told TP to expect the worse and bring a fire extinguisher with him....' LOL

now that's some funny stuff right there!!

Randy had a rough week with the truggy.....I'll leave it at that.

Taylor gets a crummy start getting hit in the 2nd corner....comes out nearly last. Works his way all the back up to 2nd with 12 minutes to go. This would bump him into the A main....passing Ashton...and alot of other big names. He had a mechanical and was out of the race....VERY huge let down. the kid can wheel!!!

That sucks. I think there is a picture of Randy on Neobuggy, picture 18 in truck/truggy pics.

LOL....i thought you meant the truggy...and i was gonna die laughing. the truck has a pink body and i don't think Randy is into pink. he ehe ehhehehehee

'Well I kept my week consistant....I got into second on lap 2, then I cased it in the 9 pack. My reciever batt box broke, and then I dragged it till it broke loose. Through all of this its amazing that I want to do it again. One things for sure, I don't think it can get any worse unless my cars start to spontaneously combust. If they ever do thou, I'm almost positive I will laugh my a$$ off.'

My whole weekend at last Mapston was like that..you either find a way to laugh about it when it's over or toss everything in a garbage can ! ( at least mine was in town and didn't cost me all the travel $ on top of everything else ) gotta feel bad for the guy's bad weekend down there though.

Sorry for Randys bad luck..sucks that This was the His Bad weekend. but maybe its all out of the system now and he will kick butt rest of the year No way to go But UP from this weekend for him Glad he still sent the updates during his misery .

no i used losi glue.lol i glued them in the morning when it was cold. i was more disapointed about the truggy main, that would have been my first national a main finish! still need to get some things figured out on my car, my k cars were locked all weekend! oh and battling with pavidas was pretty cool to.lol
