I had a milkshake and spilled half of it on the table.
Potter had a waffle with fruit.
Bob had a pop and fries
Not sure about the rest.

Bob came to represent the MT racers for the Hank and hoped for the NCT as well
We talked a little about the NCT meeting that I was going to on 12/21

Discussed what the club is and what it represents. What does the club get from the members, what do members get from the club? (It is pretty one sided at the moment and has been.)
Discussed memberships and what they are or are not.

Discusssed reviewing and rewriting the bylaws to include:

- Clearly define no affiliation with any one hobby shop by the club or club officials.

- Membership expectations and guidelines

- Tiered membership levels - One level is for those who purely want cheaper club race fees but do not want to put time in to help at all. Another level is for those who just want to race but not be a member. Another is for those who want cheaper club race fees and will commit to time spent helping the club when needed.

- Define the tiered membership levels and what is included in each level - For instance online voting via members only forum, discounts at larger events such as the Mapston and the Hank Perry, eligible for the summer points series or not (need for a better organized point series), free vs discounted membership appreciation race, etc...

Wizard was elected as the person responsible for membership tracking and coordinating - keeping an accurate up-to-date record of current memberships. Membership cards, etc...

The club needs to be able to count on its members to put time in and the members need perks to be a member instead of paying for membership just to get discounted race fees.

This is all I can remember.

Since the meeting, I have taken on the task of drafting the Bylaw re-write, creating a tiered level membership that the applicant can choose based on what level of support they want to provide the club, as well as what benefits will accompany each level.
Nothing is set in stone, but I am hoping to spur more interest in assisting the club and receiving a little something in return other than just reduced race fees.

Not so true Mike. I am always happy to see you! But the cookies are always a big benefit as well.

The meetings are always the second Monday of the month. I think January is the 11th.

gotcha, ya cookies are a plus but I think she shrunk my pants in the wash maybe less cookies would be good

lol -I have had the clothes shrinking issue for a number of years now. I was told that I have to stop consuming sugar though.

I know I wasn't at this meeting....

It is important to make sure the leadership is not affiliated with any hobby shop for sure. That has created tension in the past no doubt.

on the flipside....

If a hobby shop wants to get involved and support the club the club in my opinion needs to embrace that. Let's face it, the club needs the support and so do the hobby shops.

If a hobby shop does not want to get involved but get upset at the club for letting another shop get involved....well......that is just BS.

Agreed. Hobby shops should have a vested interest in the club, the facility and the larger events. I don't think their support should be turned away, but at the same time, I think the club and officials need to be neutral and unbiased.

I think if we need anything from the shops to purchase, it should be bid on by all the shops and the lowest shop gets the bid, a Perfect example is tires if were looking for a set amount of tires for a spec class we should ask for the lowest bidder
